Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Driver Fleet Manager to join our team at Hub Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the management of our driver fleet, ensuring that our drivers are performing at their best and that our customers receive exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driver Performance Management: Set clear expectations, conduct regular reviews, and implement corrective action plans to ensure drivers meet performance standards.
  • Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure drivers comply with all FMCSA regulations, including hours of service, random drug testing, and proper licensing and endorsements.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve issues with assigned drivers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Driver Retention: Develop and implement strategies to improve driver retention and reduce turnover.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and mentorship to drivers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Schedule Management: Track and manage driver schedules, including planned time off, holiday pay compliance, and vacations.
  • Payroll Management: Resolve driver payroll discrepancies and authorize additional accessorial and hourly pay when necessary.
  • Utilization Management: Manage driver utilization to ensure they meet targeted utilization levels and work with load planners to improve driver productivity.
  • Execution and Compliance: Ensure drivers execute assigned work and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Foster a culture of trust and teamwork, valuing the contributions of all employees in support of a high-performance culture.

Requirements:

  • Strong Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team of drivers.
  • Organizational, Analytical, and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Self-Starter and Highly Motivated: A self-starter with a high level of motivation and a strong work ethic.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is $50,000 - $55,000 per year, based on a combination of factors, including skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand.
