About This Opportunity

Exact Sciences is a leader in the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer. We're seeking an exceptional Technical Lead to spearhead our Software Engineering team.

This role will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with various stakeholders to devise innovative solutions to pressing business challenges. You will communicate effectively with leaders at all levels of the organization and drive your team's execution, often under tight deadlines.

The successful candidate will have 10+ years of experience in Information Technology, with a strong track record of leadership and technical expertise. They will possess excellent communication and project management skills, as well as the ability to motivate and inspire their team to achieve outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the capabilities of the engineering team, including coding, testing, and deployment protocols.
  • Maintain strong relationships and transparency with key stakeholders, such as Lab, Sales, Support, Customers, and Affiliates.
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to prioritize roadmaps, requirements, balance business needs with capacity, and technology constraints.
  • Influence senior engineering and business leaders to drive increased capability through engineering processes and technologies.
  • Work with business stakeholders and engineering teams to design innovative solutions to complex challenges faced by the company.
  • Supervise staff, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.
  • Communicate goals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them.
  • Motivate and inspire employees to do their best work through coaching.
  • Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Apply good process management, negotiating, influencing, and problem resolution skills.
  • Prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent project communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Execute project delivery to client satisfaction on time, on budget with quality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; articulate complex technical ideas in easy-to-understand business terms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in Information Technology with increasing responsibility and advancing technical skills.
  • 5+ years of experience leading or directing people and/or project teams.
  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented, service-oriented architecture, micro-service architecture, and programming principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP, LIMS, Bioinformatics, or clinical data management.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (SOX, HIPAA, CLIA, GCP, FDA, ISO-13485, and/or IEC-62304).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Clinical Lab environment.
  • Enterprise-class information technology experience (Custom-COTS Hybrid, Integrated Multi-Channel End-User, Multiple Mobile Platform Delivery, Distributed Big Data).

Compensation Package

The estimated salary range for this position is $143,000 - $228,000 per year, based on national averages. In addition, this role is bonus eligible, and eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
