Job Description
As a Medical Specialist in our Step Down Unit, you'll be responsible for:
- Providing specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to general medical-surgical units
- Monitoring and assessing patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and respiratory status
- Administering medications and performing procedures as needed
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Educating patients and families on post-intensive care recovery and self-care techniques
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A current RN license
- BLS certification (and any other certifications required by the facility)
- At least two years of recent experience in a Step Down unit setting
- Strong communication and adaptability skills
