Support Staff Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at The Arc Eastern Connecticut. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities:- Deliver Personalized Support: Assist participants with daily living skills, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
- Plan Meaningful Activities: Develop and implement individualized plans to promote socialization, recreation, and community integration.
- Maintain Health and Safety: Ensure participants' physical and emotional well-being by administering medications, responding to emergencies, and reporting incidents.
- Document Progress: Accurately complete required documentation, including program data, incident reports, and progress notes.
- Transportation and Logistics: Safely transport participants to appointments, activities, and outings.
- Certification and Training: Possess or be willing to obtain relevant certifications, such as CPR/First Aid and medication administration training.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with participants, family members, and staff to ensure seamless collaboration and coordination.
- Teamwork and Flexibility: Demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Competitive Salary: $18.30 per hour (dependent on location and experience)
