At Mesilla Valley Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Professional to join our team as an Intake Registered Nurse (RN). In this critical role, you will be responsible for screening potential admissions and determining the appropriate level of care to recommend to physicians. This position requires close collaboration with medical staff, department heads, administration, treatment teams, external case managers, and managed care organizations.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for an experienced RN looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients struggling with psychiatric and substance abuse issues. As an Intake Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the initial assessment and recommendation process for potential admissions.

Responsibilities
  • Screen potential admissions and determine the appropriate level of care
  • Interface closely with medical staff, department heads, administration, treatment teams, external case managers, and managed care organizations
  • Answer incoming calls and determine the medical stability of walk-in and direct admission patients
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work or a clinically related mental health field
  • New Mexico licensure as per the scope of services for each discipline
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience
