About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Akron Children's Hospital in New Philadelphia. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our medical staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Job Description

This is a part-time position (0.6 FTE) working onsite. The successful candidate will have a Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing and be licensed as an RN in the State of Ohio, with national certification as a nurse practitioner by a nationally accredited organization.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent critical thinking, self-motivation, and interpersonal communication skills, with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database use, and other computer software programs for data analysis and presentations.

In this role, you will perform health assessments and physical exams, identify significant health and medical risk factors, order, interpret, and evaluate tests and studies to assess clinical problems and healthcare needs.

You will develop diagnoses by analyzing and synthesizing collected data, independently and in collaboration with physicians, develop treatment plans along with patients and significant others, and perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with board certification, state law, and organizational medical staff privileges.

Apart from your clinical responsibilities, you will also participate in medical team rounds, collaborate with nursing, medical, and other healthcare team members regularly to ensure quality patient care, and assist with discharge planning and consults as directed.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing
  • Licensed as an RN in the State of Ohio
  • National certification as a nurse practitioner by a nationally accredited organization
  • Certificate of authority and certificate to prescribe (or eligible) by Ohio Board of Nursing
Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
