Job Opportunity at Mad Science of Maine

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Lead Instructor for our summer camp program. As a Lead Instructor, you will be responsible for facilitating our innovative camp program, inspiring the next generation of scientists, and working with children from 1st-6th grade.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate Mad Science camp programs with high energy and working with children
  • Teach one topic for the entire summer, with the aid of Assistant Instructors
  • Matched with desired themed topics, such as Robotics, Chemistry, Engineering, Inventing, Anthropology, and more
  • Commit to the entire summer schedule, with some weeks built in as days off
  • Ability to pass a background check and have a dependable car for commuting
Requirements:
  • Outgoing, animated, fun personality
  • Dependable car for commuting to different locations
  • Commit to the entire summer schedule
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Reliability and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children ages 5-12
  • Classroom and behavioral management skills
  • Organized, independent, and have attention to detail
  • Science Course Work (not required, but interest in science and learning is crucial)
Benefits:
  • Lead Instructor compensation: $110-$143 per day, week + Set Travel Compensation
  • PAID Training: Additional training will be given per topic before camp start dates
  • Orientation stipend: $80
  • Gas cards and travel compensation
  • Free programming for children/reduced for close relatives
