Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Therapist to join our team at Surpass Behavioral Health. As a Behavioral Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children and teens with autism.

About the Role:

As a Behavioral Therapist, you will work as a valued member of our therapy teams to provide individualized services to children with autism, working under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct one-on-one therapeutic care to clients in a home, school, clinic, and/or community setting to implement behavioral treatment plans and instructional plans utilizing ABA principles as directed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • Creating a safe and supportive environment for clients and families.
  • Assisting with supporting clients during times of challenging behaviors through the implementation of the client's behavior support plan as developed by the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Partnering with the Behavior Analyst to maintain ongoing communication with parents/caregivers regarding the client's progress and plan of care.
  • Completing session notes and timesheets per company protocols and submitting within the designated time frame.
  • Assisting with the creation and maintenance of instructional materials/stimuli.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • To be at least 18 years of age.
  • To have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • To have a Bachelor or Associate Degree in behavioral health, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field (preferred).
  • To have an active Registered Behavior Technician Certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
  • To have prior professional experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in a multi-disciplinary team setting (a plus).
  • To work with integrity and adhere to the BACB Ethical Code, HIPAA practices, and company policies.
  • To have the ability to move freely, quickly, and frequently from a seated position (on the floor or in a chair) to a standing position as well as the ability to lift items up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
