Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to join our team at Fisher Auto Parts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting a team/fleet of drivers, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining all vehicles in top working order.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise employee performance, allocate driver assignments, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Manage databases that detail transport activities and driver performance through GPS, Donlen Fleet Web, Driver Point Telematics, and employee schedules.
  • Make hiring recommendations, properly train staff, and stay up-to-date on current transportation laws and fleet regulations.
  • Be highly knowledgeable of codes, laws, regulations, and policies, including DOT, OSHA, and EPA, as well as basic budgeting, accounting, data entry, and electronic file system knowledge.
  • Manage and maintain Driver Hours of Service logs, daily pre and post vehicle inspections (DVIR), medical certification exams, driver licensing, and Haz-Mat certification.
  • Schedule and coordinate annual CMV inspections and ensure documentation is maintained in the vehicle.
  • Investigate safety and accident incidents and take necessary corrective actions within policy guidelines.
  • Coordinate prompt repairs or deficiencies noted by employees and/or DOT inspectors.
  • Maintain a current Medical Card and/or CDL license to drive any route/run.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in transportation and/or logistics management is preferred.
  • Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report must be obtained by applicant and submitted for approval prior to hire date.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.
  • 2-3 years of prior relevant experience with a proven track record in transportation/logistic scheduling and management is required.

Working Environment:

The Transportation Manager will work in a fast-paced and dynamic warehouse environment, with frequent lifting, standing, and walking required. The ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with peers, direct reports, and corporate management is essential.
