Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Police Support Officer to join our team at the City of Bothell. As a key member of our Support Services Division, you will be responsible for coordinating and performing prisoner transport and control duties, ensuring the safety and security of our holding facility and transport vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport prisoners and other individuals to and from court appearances, medical appointments, and other destinations.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the BPD holding facility, including inspecting and cleaning transport vehicles.
  • Supervise prisoner behavior and promote acceptable conduct, physically restraining disruptive detainees as necessary.
  • Coordinate prisoner court appearances with the Bothell Municipal Court, escorting prisoners to court and supervising them during proceedings.
  • Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues and adhere to strict protocols for handling sensitive information.
Requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, as well as maintain a high level of situational awareness in emergency situations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and composure in high-pressure situations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in law enforcement or a related field preferred.
