Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronic Health Records Indexing Specialist to join our team at South Shore Health. This role is responsible for the effective coordination and organization of quality electronic health information and records.

This position reports to the HIM Manager and works closely with providers and clinical staff to ensure accurate and timely indexing and scanning of patient records. The successful candidate will have experience in health information management, including processing of medical records, and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and organize the indexing and scanning of patient records to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Work closely with providers and clinical staff to identify training needs and provide support in navigating scanned documents in the LMR.
  • Assist in managing and reducing risk associated with inadequate or unavailable documentation.
  • Maintain logs of requests and response times for release of information procedures.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support the efficient operation of the Health Information Services department.

The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in health information services, preferably in a lead role, and strong problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills. A college degree in computer information science or a related field is preferred.

Salary

$65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
