Medical Support Specialist

At Haywood Regional Medical Center, we are seeking a skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient assessments and treatments under the supervision of a licensed provider.
- Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection as needed.
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition to ensure timely interventions.
- Document patient care given and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain examination areas, equipment, and medical supplies to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Previous medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification preferred.
