Job Title: Financial Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Operations Specialist to join our team in Houston, TX. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading the financial operations team and overseeing the commercial operations and reporting of our service businesses.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role and position, with a strong background in accounting and financial management. You will be able to adapt to frequently changing priorities, schedules, and tight timelines, and have excellent relationship skills to work effectively with colleagues and clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial operations team and oversee the commercial operations and reporting of our service businesses.
  • Provide direction and guidance for the financial team while maintaining flexibility in the workday to address critical requirements as they arise.
  • Use independent judgment and reasoning to support prioritization of key deliverables while generating the highest level of accuracy in the service invoicing, reporting, and other financial deliverables.
  • Review and pay accounts payable invoices, ADP entry, payroll submission, and subcon payments, as well as payroll ADP posting, taxes, and Peachtree data entry.
  • Invoice all departments, process child support checks, report on 401K benefits, reconcile insurance, health, and dental claims, and prepare Signal monthly reports and insurance schedules.
  • Perform bank reconciliation, job-profit reviews, work-in-progress calculations, and postings in Peachtree, as well as UK monthly commission reports and postings.
  • Review department P&Ls for inconsistencies, review P&L and balance sheet accounts, complete GWW templates, generate Prophix reports, and produce consolidated GWW reports.
  • Prepare agent sales template reports, manage Marcas, BSM, and other key contract reporting, and maintain depreciation schedules.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate's degree or higher in accounting or financial management is preferred, with a bachelor's degree being desirable.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role and position, preferably in the service industry.
  • Excellent relationship skills and ability to work individually as well as in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel, and familiarity with Peachtree Financial software or Sage 50 versions.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum
