MRI Technologist, Cancer Center

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our team at Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI scans, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with radiologists and physicists to achieve accurate diagnoses.
Responsibilities- Review physician orders for accuracy and completeness
- Screen patients for MRI appropriateness and review contraindications
- Discuss findings with physicists and radiologists as needed
- Document changes in electronic health records
- Ensure other resources, such as nursing, are scheduled accordingly
- Interview patients, conduct screenings, and obtain medical history
- Explain procedures and instruct patients on necessary requirements
- Administer intravenous injections of contrast material as needed
- Perform MRI scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Assist patients in dressing for exams and attend to their physical well-being
- Communicate with patients and families regarding test results and procedures
- Perform QC testing and report problems with MRI systems and workstations
- Maintain data sets and archives, performing calculations and statistical analyses as needed
- Participate in accreditation imaging requirements
- Perform post-processing on MRI systems and remote workstations
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Two years of MRI experience preferred
- Ability to lift 40-50lbs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
