Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Resident to join our team at WCS Healthcare Partners in Manhattan, New York. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care and support to residents in a residential facility.
About the Role
This role involves coordinating and following through on provisions of health care services for assigned programs. The successful candidate will arrange medical services for individuals, issue medical referrals as needed, and conduct training for staff in various areas, including medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team and be responsible for coordinating and following through on provisions of health care services for assigned programs.
- Arrange medical services for individuals and issue medical referrals as needed.
- Provide follow-up on medical problems for individuals.
- Conduct training for staff in various areas, including medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, and more.
- Handle control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment, reporting to consulting physicians, and implementation of appropriate protective and preventive measures.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required by each division.
- Monitor required staff health records and provide tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements.
- Provide immediate first aid with referral to outside emergency services or private physicians.
- Prepare and maintain medical documentation on each individual.
- Administer medications when appropriate and supervise certified staff in administration.
Requirements
- License and current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
- CPR Certification.
- OPWDD experience required.
