Job Overview:

About the Role:

The Critical Care Nurse Specialist will be responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' conditions, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Maintain accurate records, report progress, and participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide education and training to colleagues, students, and other healthcare professionals

 

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • One year of experience in critical care or a related field
  • Current Texas State RN License or Compact RN License
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS required at time of hire for experienced RNs; new graduate nurses must obtain ACLS within 6 months
  • PALS required at time of hire for experienced RNs; new graduate nurses must obtain PALS within 6 months
  • Crisis intervention training required within 12 months of hire/transfer date
  • TNCC required within 6 weeks of hire for experienced RNs; new graduate nurses must obtain TNCC within 18 months of hire/transfer date

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience
