Job Description

The State of California is seeking a highly skilled Capital Assets Manager to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for managing the Authority's Capital Asset Section functions and coordinating/directing the activities of the staff.

In this role, you will design and organize activities to ensure the fiscal integrity of accounting data and compliance with all applicable accounting principles, state, federal and organizational rules, regulations, and procedures. You will also ensure the safeguarding of assets and compliance with policies applicable to the job.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, research, and analytical skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate effectively to all staff levels. You will also have experience with reconciliations, accounting with multiple funding sources, and year-end close, as well as experience in general ledger, capital assets, and financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Authority's Capital Asset Section functions
  • Coordinate/direct the activities of the staff
  • Design and organize activities to ensure fiscal integrity of accounting data
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting principles, state, federal and organizational rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Safeguard assets and ensure compliance with policies applicable to the job

Requirements:

  • Experience with reconciliations, accounting with multiple funding sources, and year-end close
  • Experience in general ledger, capital assets, and financial statements
  • Excellent organizational, research, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate effectively to all staff levels

Working Conditions:

This is a permanent, full-time position with a hybrid telework arrangement. The incumbent will work in a professional office environment, in a climate-controlled cubicle, and will be required to use a computer, mouse, and video display terminal for long periods of time.
