Math Tutor Job DescriptionAt Math Corps, we're seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Math Tutors. As a Math Tutor, you'll play a vital role in helping students in grades 4-8 build their math skills and confidence. Your commitment will have a significant impact on the lives of many children, and you'll be part of a team that's dedicated to making a difference.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to students in math
- Track student progress and meet with the school's on-site coach regularly
- Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software
- Commit to your own growth as a tutor through coaching, training, and professional development
- Represent Math Corps at school events and share your experience with the community to raise awareness
- Dependable and have a history of good attendance
- Able to understand and follow instructions
- Open to making improvements based on feedback
- Capable of setting a pace and maintaining a schedule with students
- Competent with basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
- A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
- Able to successfully complete a background check
