Echocardiography Technologist

This role is responsible for performing echocardiographic procedures, including M-Mode, 2D real-time, color flow, pulsed, and continuous wave Doppler, as well as stress echocardiograms. The successful candidate will also assist with transesophageal procedures, pericardiocentesis, and cardiac exercise testing. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining the department's equipment and supplies, adhering to ICAEL standards, and providing preliminary analysis of echocardiograph results.
Key Responsibilities
Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters to perform ultrasound imaging according to ICAEL protocol.
Assists cardiologists with TEE and stress imaging studies.
Utilizes safety and infection prevention standards, performs quality control procedures, and cleans equipment.
Recognizes the need for contrast imaging and administers it if trained and verified as competent.
Operates laboratory ultrasound systems, information systems, and databases, and enters required demographic and other data.
Requirements
Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Sonography Certification and Registration (S-ARRT), or CCI Registered Technologist, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) ARDMS certified, or eligible and must obtain certification within one year of hire into the role.
CPR certified.
Preferred Qualifications
1 to 3 years of experience performing echocardiograms.
RDCS certification through American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
May require a PA driver's license.
