Job Title: Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at All American Barricades. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in estimating work for our projects by gathering proposals, engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the scope of work to be bid and prepare estimates by gathering relevant documents.
  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by analyzing proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents.
  • Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in the traffic control safety/construction estimating industry (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft and tracking software.
  • Familiarity with traffic control safety/construction methods.
  • Able to read MOT plans, contracts, and develop cost estimates.
  • Effective communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills (English and Spanish preferred).
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrate willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
  • Requires lifting and carrying of up to 50lb or more.
  • Requires using hands to handle, control, or lift objects with a strong grip.
