Job Overview

BLDD Architects is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect to join our Design team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and facilitating the execution of new building designs and/or building expansions, or renovations according to client needs, desires, and financial resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and execute new building designs and/or building expansions, or renovations.
  • Identify client preferences regarding materials, styles, colors, and other variables.
  • Assist clients in defining their priorities and visions in terms of needs vs. desires and prepare preliminary sketches or options.
  • Prepare and present designs, specifications, estimated costs, and proposed construction schedules.
  • Create detailed plans integrating engineering, electrical, and HVAC considerations; present plans to clients for review and approval.
  • Modify new or existing plans as required.
  • Prepare scale drawings and contract requirements and submit for bids.
  • Collaborate with clients to select and award construction contracts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 5-10 years' experience in architecture or related field.
  • Day travel within the regional Midwest - up to 10%.
  • Valid State Driver's License required.
  • Licensed Architect in the State of IL and MO preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong work ethic, energetic, optimistic, and positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail, with great organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets & Docs, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam required.
  • Strong expertise in Revit, Lumion, Sketchup, and other modeling software required.
  • Willingness to learn and desire to contribute to the team's success.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
