About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to join our Platform Development team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in expanding our data platform, which supports all of CoStar Group's largest brands, including Homes.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead an Agile software development team (approximately 5-7 people);
  2. Lead Scrum ceremonies;
  3. Promote a can-do attitude, engineering mindset, and collaboration as fundamental team values;
  4. Influence web application architecture and CI/CD pipeline improvements;
  5. Drive continuous improvement by focusing on engineering excellence;
  6. Translate business requirements into technical requirements, develop project plans, and work schedules for use by the Scrum development team;
  7. Successfully implement software development projects to specification and within scheduled timelines and budget parameters;
  8. Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other Agile teams to deliver large initiatives;
  9. Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be used to strengthen CoStar's technology platform and development practices;
  10. Avoid adopting an owner-operator mindset and demonstrate full ownership of the product and technical platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college;
  • ~3+ years' experience in modern web and database technologies;
  • ~3+ years' experience building large distributed, API-driven systems;
  • ~3+ years of experience leading Agile Team(s);
  • C#, .NET Core, and SQL Server;
  • Must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (direct reports, peers, and senior management);
  • Excellent team building, negotiation, and consensus building abilities;
  • Ability to motivate and build high-performance software development teams;
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, and Vue is desired;
  • Experience with the AWS platform;
  • Experience with non-relational databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, or ElasticSearch;
  • Experience with relational databases (preferably SQL Server);
  • Commercial Real Estate (CRE) knowledge is a bonus.
