Cardiac Monitor Specialist

The Cardiac Monitor Specialist is responsible for continuous surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms to RNs and/or clinicians. The specialist reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns, current patterns, and prior variances.
Working cooperatively as part of a team, the specialist performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patient cardiac rhythms and provide immediate notification of any changes
- Review patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns, current patterns, and prior variances
- Work cooperatively as part of a team to provide high-quality patient care
Requirements:
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or current Mercy coworker
- Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam
- Basic computer skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure
