About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies using a magnetic resonance device.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for MRI studies, positioning them correctly and setting imaging parameters.
  • Perform computer processing and displaying images, selecting appropriate imaging protocols for patient studies.
  • Conduct quality assurance scans as required, ensuring the highest level of image quality.
  • Work closely with the MR physicist at the A.A. Martinos Center to test and troubleshoot pulse sequences unique to the Center.
  • Train large investigator populations on new and emergent pulse sequences that may enhance their research.
  • Collaborate with the physicist to educate the Principal Investigator community about upcoming software and hardware changes.
  • Perform scheduled quality control procedures on MRI scanner and other related equipment, recording QA results as required.
  • Prepare for and perform intravenous injection of MR contrast agents, understanding and communicating possible contraindications and monitoring for adverse reactions.
  • Insert IV catheters as needed, instructing patients and visitors in MR safety procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to safety practices by all persons entering the MRI area.
Requirements
  • Mental/visual ability to operate complex electronic equipment and instrumentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with staff of varying medical and technical experience.
  • Strong computer skills and a working knowledge of MR physics.
  • Ability to provide appropriate care to various age populations.
  • Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
