At Reid Health, we are seeking a skilled EMS Dispatcher to join our team. As an EMS Dispatcher, you will be responsible for receiving incoming telephone calls regarding non-emergency ambulance transport, entering data and maintaining a log of call taking information, coordinating ambulance transport between Reid Health, Reid Health EMS, and other transporting agencies, prioritizing efficient and safe transport, and assisting with Q/A and Q/I of EMS charts.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer non-emergency calls and document important and appropriate information.
  • Respond to any issues and follow-up by coordinating with the appropriate departments or field units.
  • Operate and manage a multi-line telephone console system.
  • Respond to queries related to products and deliveries.
  • Use the radio, phone or computer to direct crews and other field units to the appropriate sites.
  • Prioritize and organize calls according to urgency and efficiency.
  • Supervise the route and status of field units to prioritize their daily schedule.
  • Maintain and update call logs, call records and other important documentation.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office with experience in data entry preferred.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
