We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Excellence Professional to join our team at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

This role is based in Blacksburg, Virginia, and offers a competitive salary of $90,000 - $105,000 per year.

About the Job:

The Strategic Excellence Professional will play a critical supporting role in advancing the university's mission and vision through strategic, transformational initiatives. This will involve working with leaders to ensure the success of various projects aimed at elevating all aspects of the Organizational Excellence model.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing consulting projects, including organizational and operational assessment, performance and productivity improvement, organizational design and development, change management, leadership advisory services, and other organizational transformation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a wide variety of consulting projects to advance the university's mission and vision.
  • Work with leaders to ensure the success of various projects aimed at elevating all aspects of the Organizational Excellence model.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive change management strategies and execution plans.
  • Create and deliver strategies and plans that focus on the people side of change, including leadership support and changes to culture, organizational structures, business processes, systems, and technology.
  • Seek to maximize stakeholder adoption and usage while minimizing resistance to large-scale changes.
  • Increase return on investment, value creation, and achievement of intended results and outcomes while supporting the development of a more change-adept culture.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree with a concentration in Organizational Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership or Management, Systems Engineering, or related field; or a bachelor's degree with significant related experience.
  • Experience in an individual contributor role in relevant consulting, corporate, or non-profit environments demonstrating leadership, facilitation, consulting, project management, and other skills and capabilities required of a Strategic Excellence Professional.
  • Demonstrated experience in business or strategy consulting, organizational development and design, or organizational excellence.
  • Demonstrated strategic, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in ambiguous or evolving situations.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation experiences, and ability to effectively manage group dynamics and conflict.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with both colleagues and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate client cultures, needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to positively influence diverse audiences through meaningful change and transformation.
