Company Overview
Ventura College, a public community college in California, seeks an experienced instructor to lead our Agriculture or Agricultural Production Initial Focus: Veterinary Technology program. Our campus is nestled in the rolling hills of Ventura, approximately 60 miles north of Los Angeles.

Salary Range
$60,391 - $126,810 annually for a ten-month contract, with opportunities for advancement based on longevity and educational growth.

Job Description
We are looking for a skilled educator to provide comprehensive classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds, facilitating their academic or vocational objectives under the general direction of a dean. The successful candidate will have expertise in veterinary technology and agriculture, with experience in leading programs and forming partnerships with industry professionals. They will also be responsible for maintaining American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accreditation standards, serving on the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and working with local organizations to secure resources and volunteers.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and two years of professional experience, or an associate degree and six years of experience. A master's degree in agriculture or a related field can substitute for some experience. Additionally, candidates must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine license, be a graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school, and maintain good standing as a California veterinarian. Experience in curriculum development, teaching, and industry partnerships is highly desirable.
