Job Description

Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join their team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. The selected candidate will be part of a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, serving 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island.

The hospital is academically affiliated with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, maintaining high standards of healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and perform surgery on complex orthopedic cases, including pelvic fractures, complex long bone and intra-articular fractures, and complex fractures of the upper and lower extremities.
  • Participate in the emergency call schedule for orthopedic surgery.
  • Participate in the ACS trauma multi-disciplinary activities, including data collection and compliance issues required for a level I trauma center.
  • Teach orthopedic surgery residents, medical students, and physicians assistants.
  • Critically review orthopedic trauma consultations seen in the Emergency Department and In-Patient units.
  • Provide outpatient and inpatient surgical and non-surgical care for complex orthopedic trauma.
  • Act as the orthopedic liaison to the multi-disciplinary trauma committee.
  • Be responsible for quality programs required by the hospital and the American College of Surgeons.
  • Assist with departmental administration, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship trained Board Eligible or Certified Orthopedic Surgeon.
