Job Title: Metrology and Defect Sustaining Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a talented Metrology and Defect Sustaining Engineer to join our team at our Linthicum, MD facility. As a key member of our Advanced Technology Lab, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing new in-line defect metrology recipes and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop new in-line defect metrology recipes and techniques
  • Assist with integrating in-line defect metrology into our process flows
  • Write and maintain process documentation
  • Partner with vendors and equipment engineers to drive existing and future tools to meet foundry and program needs
  • Support statistical process control (SPC), continuous improvement efforts, and the management and dissemination of metrology data

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • General understanding of defect inspection and review tools
  • Basic knowledge of statistical process control
  • Hands-on experience with Si, GaAs, or other wafers
  • 1 year of experience with semiconductor fabrication
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom setting
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • US citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on knowledge and operation of defect inspection and review tools
  • Hands-on knowledge and operation of metrology or analytical tools
  • Experience in lean manufacturing practices and structured problem-solving methodology
  • Experience working in a cleanroom setting
  • Data analysis and visualization skills
  • Experience developing technical specifications for equipment procurement
  • Active Secret clearance
