We're seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team at one of our full-service hospitals. As a key member of our technical team, you will provide exceptional veterinary care to our patients and deliver outstanding customer service to their owners.

About the Role

This role plays a critical part in ensuring that our hospital operates efficiently, providing an optimal experience for our patients and clients. You will be responsible for performing duties with or without reasonable accommodation, including greeting clients and patients, obtaining vital signs, recording patient histories, and assisting veterinarians with appointments and procedures.

  • Greet clients and patients, obtain vital signs, and record patient histories
  • Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia's
  • Perform patient restraint, process laboratory samples, handle medications, and maintain electronic medical records
  • Schedule appointments, communicate with clients, relay test results, and manage accounts receivable
  • Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures, monitor anesthesia, and prepare patients for discharge
  • Provide in-hospital treatments, keep patients clean and fed, and safely walk canine patients
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A college education or equivalent as required for Credentialed Veterinary Technicians in the state where the hospital is located
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Compassion, sympathy, and a professional attitude in emotional and stressful situations
  • Telephone and computer skills
  • Ability to work as a team player, learn new techniques, and adapt to change
Work Environment

The majority of job duties will be conducted in our Vetco Total Care full-service hospital. You will spend a large amount of time interacting with clients and their pets, which requires standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 30 pounds, and being able to walk canine patients when necessary.

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $45,000 - $60,000 depending on location and experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and opportunities for career growth and development.
