Clinical Nurse Specialist

As a skilled Clinical RN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in our Ambulatory Care setting. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, individualized nursing care to patients and their families, working collaboratively with the practice leadership team and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement comprehensive nursing care plans for patients with diverse health issues
• Collaborate with practice leadership and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Provide education and support to patients and their families on health-related topics
• Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient care services
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
• Screen, dose, and administer injections as needed
• Recognize medical emergencies and initiate alert and treatment systems
Requirements:
• Current Oregon RN license
• Further training and/or work experience in the clinic specialty
• Ability to work effectively as a team member in the delivery of healthcare services
• Ability to interview, examine, assess, evaluate, and identify health problems for patients
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a clinic setting
Working Conditions:
• Medium physical, high mental demand capabilities required
• Must be able to work independently, as well as with other physicians/clinical staff, courteously and professionally
• Able to work with time constraints and high stress situations
• Must be able to work/maneuver frequently in and around work areas
Essential Job Functions:
• Provides and maintains a therapeutic environment for patients and families
• Articulates the professional nursing role to the patient, family, and health team members
• Communicates the plan of care and other pertinent information to/from other patient care team members
• Provides nursing care appropriate to the age group of patients
• Observes, reports, and documents relevant patient information
• Helps define standards of excellence for patient care; participates in improvement of patient care services
• Participates in and contributes to performance improvement activities
• Collaborates with other professional and non-professional personnel in maintaining recognized standards
• Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members
• Appropriately utilizes nursing resources, equipment, and supplies
• Participates in daily activities conducive to the comfort & safety of patients / their families & practice staff
• Provides input to the practice leadership regarding practice needs
• Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills based on current nursing education practice
• Screen, dose, and administration of injections
• Instruction and administration of tests
• Maintain medical records in orderly fashion
• Telephone triage of patients
• Renewal of prescription refill to pharmacies
• Recognition of medical emergency and initiation of alert and treatment system
• Knowledge of copies, FAX, computer (PC) systems and perform other duties as assigned
