Job Description

The Trade Desk is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Platform Operations to join our team. As a key member of our Platform Operations team, you will play a critical role in shaping our procurement process and policies, ensuring our platform investments are strategically aligned with our business.

You will partner with key stakeholders across the business, including finance, product management, engineering, and executive leadership, to ensure seamless delivery of systems and infrastructure that spans multi-cloud, On-Prem, Networking, and SaaS systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the platform Technical Procurement Department in creating and refining processes and procedures that ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness for technical components of our platform.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for vendor-related issues and incidents, coordinating resolution efforts and implementing preventive measures to mitigate future risks.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering stakeholders to effectively articulate the importance of financial ownership and accountability, while empowering the engineering organization to operate independently using guidance and guiderails communicated.
  • Drive Platform Efficiency - Partner with product management, engineering, and business stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to optimize technology processes, improve efficiency, utilization, and enhance the overall performance of our platform.
  • Monitoring Costs - Monitor platform performance and cost metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform efficiency and scalability.
  • Platform Budget & Forecasting - Contribute to the creation of the annual Platform Operations budget and forecast, encompassing over 250+ million in annual expenses. Determine the capital budget for technology investments, such as hardware, software, and infrastructure upgrades.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology or finance-related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in operations in the software industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven record of successfully managing technology operations strategy at a high-growth company.
  • Working knowledge of technical topics such as cloud computing, datacenter operations, and network architecture.
  • Experience managing projects and initiatives from conception to implementation, with a focus on delivering results within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive process improvements to optimize company-wide operations.
