Felton Institute Clinical Housing Support Program Supervisor

Felton Institute is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Housing Support Program Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Senior Division, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of our clients and promoting social justice in the community.

Job Summary

The Clinical Housing Support Program Supervisor will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team in providing comprehensive and integrated treatment services to tenants of the Drs. Julian & Raye Richardson and Rene Cazenave Apartments. This includes evaluating the needs of residents, developing treatment plans, and providing individual and group behavioral health counseling and case management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team in providing comprehensive and integrated treatment services to tenants of the Drs. Julian & Raye Richardson and Rene Cazenave Apartments.
  • Evaluate the needs of residents and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the Director of Older Adult Mental Health Services.
  • Provide individual and group behavioral health counseling and case management to support the well-being of residents.
  • Collaborate with property management to support tenants in maintaining stable independent housing.
  • Attend meetings with building partners, funders, and external partners as directed by the Older Adult Mental Health Services Director.
  • Participate in the Officer of the Day rotation to manage crises, drop-ins, and wellness checks.
  • Perform intakes and comprehensive psychiatric assessments for adults and older adults with psychiatric and dual diagnoses.
  • Provide crisis intervention and management to prevent eviction and hospitalization, and facilitate involuntary hospitalization if necessary.
  • Provide individual and group therapy to stabilize clients and prevent psychiatric de-compensation.
  • Provide case management services, including evaluations, service plan development, and assisting clients in accessing housing, financial, medical, and other needed services.
  • Maintain thorough clinical records in accordance with mandated standards of San Francisco Community Mental Health Services and funders.
Requirements
  • Masters degree or higher in Social Work or other Professional Counseling Programs, including MFTs/APCCs.
  • Previous experience in leadership, preferably within a residential setting.
  • Registered with an active license with BBS, including intern level ASWs, AMFTs, and APCCs.
  • Experience in case management and mental health treatment for at-risk adults and/or older adults, including co-occurring disorders (masters level internship experience considered) preferred.
  • Moderate to comprehensive understanding of Specialty Mental Health Services under the Department of Health Care services definitions.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal formats.
  • Knowledgeable about and consultation-oriented towards client risks for suicidality/violence, abuse reporting, dual role conflicts, and other ethical/legal obligations as they arise.
  • Solution-focused care planning and conceptualization skills within a multi-disciplinary team and with external agency partners and individuals.
  • Strong recovery model approach to care and ability to form strong therapeutic relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to effectively diagnose and make clinical rationales for psychiatric care utilizing the DSM 5-TR and other measures.
  • Valid CA Drivers License preferred, ability to travel across SF city to meet clients required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while meeting multiple different types of deadlines.
  • Computer skills proficiency in applications for electronic health care records, Zoom, Box, Microsoft/Outlook applications, and other technologies as needed for the role.
  • Ability to be a team player with a welcoming attitude.
