About This Role
The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) is an integral part of the Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) healthcare team. As a key member, you will uphold the YNHHS mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.
You will practice professional nursing within the legal and ethical framework established by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the YNHHS Professional Practice Model. Your professional role will be exemplified by leadership qualities, delegation, collaboration, effective communication, and ensuring quality outcomes.

Your Responsibilities
- RN Practice Guided by Established Standards
- Utilize the nursing process components: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide competent care.
- Develop individualized plans that prescribe strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
- Standards of Professional Performance
- Promote culturally congruent practice, communicate effectively, collaborate with stakeholders, lead within the profession, and contribute to quality nursing practice.
- Evaluate own and others' nursing practice and utilize resources efficiently to deliver safe, effective, and fiscally responsible services.
Qualifications
We require a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a BSN preferred. All newly hired registered nurses must have current BCLS certification or obtain it within one month of hire. Licensure and registration as a nurse in the State of Connecticut are also essential.
Clinical Specialty Certification and SPIRE Clinical Advancement Program
Registered Nurses are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program, which supports career growth and development within the organization.
Working Conditions
This role demands prolonged standing, walking, and physical activity. You may be exposed to infectious diseases and challenging situations while providing care to patients. Moderate stress and risk of injury are inherent in this position.
Salary Information
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $85,000-$110,000 based on experience, location, and other factors.
