Job Overview
The YMCA of Central Massachusetts is seeking a skilled Aquatic Professional to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a vital role in teaching water safety skills and swim techniques to individuals of all ages while maintaining a safe and welcoming pool environment.
About the Role
- Teach swimming lessons to diverse age groups, promoting water safety and confidence in the water.
- Maintain a clean and organized pool area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective communication and seamless lesson delivery.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Demonstrate proficient swimming skills, able to swim 300 yards without stopping, using front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both.
- Tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs.
- Complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds, involving swimming 20 yards, diving to retrieve an object, and returning to the surface while carrying the object on your back.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $15.00 to $20.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Additionally, you will have access to our state-of-the-art facilities, employee assistance program, and sick leave benefits.
