About the Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team in the Stormwater Maintenance department. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment, including backhoes, walking excavators, and other related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including backhoes, walking excavators, and other related equipment.
  • Perform maintenance on county enclosed and open stormwater conveyance systems and their appurtenances.
  • Restore road right-of-ways and properties relating to stormwater maintenance and repairs.
  • Respond to customer complaints relating to stormwater systems, including pipeline, canal, ditch blockages, and erosion control.
  • May require physically entering aquatic sites when necessary.
  • Complete and submit work orders relating to all work performed.
  • Respond to emergency situations as required.

Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the operation and routine maintenance of one or more pieces of heavy equipment.
  • State of Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class "A" with Tanker "N" endorsement at the time of hire.

Starting Pay: $21.07 (Step 1)
