We are currently in search of a Production Supervisor to oversee the Rendering department during the 3rd Shift. This role is pivotal in managing the rendering operations, ensuring adherence to established procedures and optimal working conditions. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for guiding rendering personnel in a processing environment, guaranteeing that daily production and quality benchmarks are consistently met. Utilizing their expertise and decision-making skills, the Supervisor will ensure that all products processed in the department align with company, customer, and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the team in producing high-quality products in line with company standards.
  • Establish and uphold safety protocols within the area of responsibility, complying with legal and company requirements.
  • Facilitate job-specific training for team members, ensuring compliance with company job rotation policies.
  • Employ effective communication skills to mentor team members, addressing employee concerns and ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture characterized by ethical conduct and mutual respect among team members.
  • Oversee the fulfillment of production schedules as set by management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to processing protocols related to quality and safety.
  • Maintain accountability and discipline among team members while striving to achieve company and customer objectives.
  • Monitor production processes and implement timely improvements to meet quality and quantity targets.
  • Utilize problem-solving strategies and teamwork to efficiently meet production schedules.
  • Manage workflow, workforce scheduling, and placement to achieve company goals.
  • Conduct process audits to identify and rectify deviations, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, and cleanliness through consistent accountability measures.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to optimize facility efficiency.
  • Assist with pre-operation tasks as required.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in a rendering department or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude to address and delegate mechanical issues.
  • Familiarity with USDA and HACCP guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to navigate ladders and stairs in high-temperature settings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Good computer skills with the ability to produce clear reports.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on employee engagement.
  • Commitment to safety practices and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Adherence to company policies and ethical standards.
  • Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to pursue further training as required.
  • This role requires physical activity, including standing and walking for extended periods, and may involve lifting up to 90 pounds.
