North Mississippi Health Services is in search of a per diem / PRN nurse for a nursing role in a Nursing Home setting located in Pontotoc, Mississippi.

The responsibilities of the bedside CLPN involve crucial support in delivering direct patient care and ensuring appropriate age-specific care within an Acute Nursing or Elderly Care facility environment.

Clinical Responsibilities:

* Utilizes the highest standards of the nursing process to ensure safe, quality patient care and accurate documentation.

* Assumes Charge Nurse duties in the absence of the RN, adhering to the scope of practice.

* Ensures compliance with all NMHS policies and directives from the Nurse Manager and Educator.

* Collaborates with clinical team members to facilitate patient admissions at the bedside.

* Independently manages discharges for assigned patients at the bedside.

* Conducts treatments, tests, and procedures, including IV therapy, as permitted by the scope of license.

* Maintains a written record of patient care activities performed, such as medications and treatments.

Educational Role:

* Keeps patients and families informed about medications, diagnostic studies, and treatments.

* Provides education to patients and families, serving as a resource for current staff and new hires.

* Stays updated on new medications and treatments to ensure patients and families are well-informed for ongoing care at home.

Communication Skills:

* Maintains open communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care to patients.

* Participates in daily huddles on each unit to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for the shift.

Professional Development:

* Maintains competency by staying informed about evolving trends in nursing practice.

* Completes required continuing education hours through online and classroom settings.

* Familiarizes self with policies, procedures, patient education resources, and performance improvement initiatives.
