Job Summary:

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Weekender Flex RN. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

• Provides direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implements and monitors patient care plans to ensure effective and timely care.

• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to ensure seamless care coordination.

• Evaluates, updates, and revises patient care plans to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.

• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.

• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders to ensure timely and effective care.

• Assesses and coordinates patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

• Assesses educational needs of patients and significant others, considering cultural issues and other special concerns.

• Provides teaching and educational material as appropriate to ensure patient understanding and empowerment.

• Validates and documents patient and family understanding of teaching to ensure effective communication.

Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.

• Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).

• Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.

• ACLS certification required for Critical Care areas.

• PALS certification required for Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation.

• ONS Chemo/Bio course completed within two years of hire if employed on units where chemo is administered.

• ACLS certification required for Adult/Combined EDs upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department.

• PALS certification required for ED upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department.

• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) required for Dedicated Trauma Centers upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department.

• Cancer specific certification or ongoing qualifying education required for medical oncology, radiation oncology, cancer center, or cancer clinic and/or administering chemotherapy within an accredited Cleveland Clinic facility.
