About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Analyst II to join our team at Scientific Research Corporation. As a Cyber Security Analyst II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) tasks to support accreditation processes
  • Conduct NIST controls review and validation testing to achieve ongoing Authorization to Operate (ATO)
  • Maintain associated Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) via eMASSter or Vulnerator to track system security posture
  • Work within the Vulnerability Risk Assessment and Mitigation (VRAM) system to perform daily/weekly activities, including EXORD, FRAGO, IAVM, FCB, ISEA, and CTO concurrence and acceptance
  • Review site scan uploads, verify asset compliance, and track Vulnerability Patch History (VPH) counts
  • Compile and analyze VRAM data, reporting findings to the Team Lead
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity
  • At least 2 years of direct experience providing information assurance (IA) and security analyst services to DoD programs
  • Current DoD 8570-compliant IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+ CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate)
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and updating POA&Ms to identify system weaknesses, mitigating actions, resources, and timeliness for corrective actions
  • Understanding of Windows, Linux OS, VMWare, and Cisco networking equipment
  • Experience performing vulnerability scanning and reporting
  • Experience using Nessus/ACAS scan tools
  • Experience working with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Effective communication skills
Desired Skills
  • Windows-based systems administration experience
  • RHEL 7/8 administration experience
  • Experience working in a virtual environment or with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Knowledge of Vulnerator or eMASSter
  • OS certification (Linux +, RHEL, Microsoft, Cisco CCENT/CCNA)
  • Familiarity with the functions of the Windows registry, directory structure, and Group Policy
