About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Threat Detection Specialist to join our team at Jacksons Companies. As a critical member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and responding to complex cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Threat Detection and Incident Response Efforts: Develop and implement strategies to protect our information systems from cyber threats.
  • Perform Advanced Analysis: Utilize advanced tools and techniques to detect, analyze, and mitigate cyber threats, including malware, phishing, and network intrusions.
  • Conduct Forensic Analysis: Perform in-depth forensic analysis of compromised systems and networks to determine the root cause of incidents.
  • Develop Incident Response Procedures: Create and refine incident response procedures and playbooks to ensure rapid and effective response to cyber incidents.
  • Oversee Security Operations Center: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC), including monitoring security alerts, managing incident tickets, and ensuring timely resolution of security issues.
  • Collaborate with IT Teams: Work closely with IT teams to implement security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software.
  • Perform Vulnerability Assessments: Conduct advanced vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our systems, networks, and applications.
  • Stay Up-to-Date on Cybersecurity Trends: Stay current on the latest cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and regulatory requirements to proactively defend against cyber-attacks.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and frameworks through regular audits and assessments.
  • Mentor and Train Colleagues: Mentor and provide guidance to cybersecurity analysts, helping them develop their skills and advance their careers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of Cybersecurity experience, with a focus on threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) highly preferred
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and customer service skills with an analytical mindset
  • Ability to travel - occasional travel to conferences, meetings, etc.
