Senior Living Clinical Director

Sunrise Senior Living is a leader in senior care, and we are seeking a talented Nursing Director RN to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the health and wellness of our residents, ensuring high-quality care and services are provided.
About the Role
- Job Summary: The Resident Care Director (RCD)/Director of Nursing/Nursing Director serves as the nursing clinical leader for the community and is responsible for leading and managing the health and wellness, along with coordination of care and services to residents within the community.
- Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Manage the nursing team to promote the health and wellness of the resident population.
- Provide clinical care through direct application of the nursing process.
- Evaluate changes in care needs and complete individualized service plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other clinical providers to coordinate care and services.
Medication Management:
- Manage medication care managers to ensure safe and effective medication use.
- Oversight of the community's medication management program.
- Clinical training and education for nurses and others providing resident care.
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance:
- Track, trend, and report clinical quality data to identify risk.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Lead clinical quality and process improvement initiatives to mitigate risk and improve resident care outcomes.
Financial Management:
- Manage department budgets to ensure financial sustainability.
- Process and submit monthly expenses and budget data in a timely manner.
Training, Leadership, and Team Member Development:
- Develop knowledge of state and provincial regulations and ensure compliance.
- On-board new RCD leaders and department coordinators as needed.
- Hold clinical team accountable and correct actions when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited college or school of nursing with a current state/provincial license as a professional Registered Nurse (RN).
- Minimum two (2) years RN experience with at least one (1) year experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care environment preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year nursing management experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily operations supervision.
