Heavy Duty Diesel Technician Position in Winchester, Virginia

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Technician to join our team at Ryder in Winchester, Virginia.
**Salary:** The estimated salary for this position is $1080 per week or $27.00 per hour, which translates to an annual salary of approximately $56,640 - $71,040 based on full-time employment.
**Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy duty vehicles, including oil changes, brake work, and basic diagnostics. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical repair and diagnostic techniques, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
**Responsibilities:*
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks
- Diagnostics and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
- Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment. Additionally, you should have knowledge of computer skills, including PC, Windows, and mouse usage. A valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A is preferred, but not required.
