Job Summary

The F&B Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the food and beverage service in the venue dining areas, catering functions in the center, and at various concessions stands, bars, and portable food and beverage locations. The F&B Supervisor will facilitate various processes and projects for the Food and Beverage department, including training employees, inventory management, and overseeing daily operations of special events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper setup of all concessions, banquet, and catering food and beverage locations prior to doors opening.
  • Provide high-level oversight and operational expertise to ensure the smooth, efficient, and profitable execution of events.
  • Train new and current employees on property procedures and best practices.
  • Assist with Premium Services operations and event needs as directed.
  • Ensure a safe and respectful work environment, addressing any safety concerns or incidents immediately.
  • Supervise the service of beverages to guests, including alcoholic beverages, and verify minimum age requirements.
  • Assist with recording guest orders and relaying them to the kitchen via the point-of-sale system.
  • Compute the cost of meals and present guests with checks, accepting payments and providing change as necessary.
  • Recommend dishes and identify ingredients or explain menu preparation methods.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Meet company standards for excellent attendance and assure that location equipment is operable and clean prior to events.
  • Recognize visibly intoxicated guests and take action to cut off alcohol service.
  • Enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Practice excellent human resources skills, including employee relations, corrective action, coaching, and counseling.
  • Assist the management team with projects, including training, inventory, and special events.

Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years' experience in a supervisory capacity in a food and beverage environment.
  • Ability to supervise the work of others and communicate effectively with employees, coworkers, volunteers, management staff, and guests.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation, and product inventory.
