Patient Service Center Representative

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Center Representative to join our team at Apex Dermatology & Skin Surgery Center LLC. As a key member of our Call Center, you will be responsible for answering incoming phone calls, assisting patients and visitors, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls to appropriate staff
- Process appointment scheduling, pre-registration, eligibility screening, insurance verification, pre-authorization, and financial counseling
- Responsible for scheduling, updating, and canceling patient clinic appointments
- Ensure complete and accurate patient registration
- Greet visitors, ascertain purpose of visit, and direct them to the appropriate staff
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of principles encompassing great customer service and ways to actively help patients
- Computer literacy – proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiar with medical scheduling software
- Attention to detail and strong math skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS/AD in a relevant field
- 1-3 years of experience in a medical call center
- 1-year experience in the dermatological field
- 2 years' experience in medical and insurance coding
- 1 year experience in record-keeping
