Network Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team. This role will support a critical project to update the state's network infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a strong background in network equipment installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, as well as experience with network security measures and device sanitization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network equipment, including Hubs, Network Interface Cards, LAN cards, hard drives, Cisco Ethernet switches, routers, wireless bridges, monitoring devices, access points, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and content devices.
• Coordinate and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Test hardware, networking software, and operating system software in preparation for new installation or upgrade.
• Work with vendors to resolve problems.
• Have a working knowledge of network applications, switches, and servers.
• Experience in network cabling systems and fiber optic cabling.
• Identify and classify MDF & IDF source power and power distribution, and advise on electrical outlets and circuits in MDF & IDF locations.

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on network infrastructure and security.
• Experience with Cisco routers and switches, as well as UPS and PDU installation and decommissioning.
• Knowledge of network cabling systems and fiber optic cabling.
• Ability to lift 65lbs.
• Valid driver's license, current insurance, and reliable automobile for travel to offices throughout the state.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
