About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Credits Strategist to join our team. As a key member of our R&D tax credit department, you will play a critical role in helping clients claim government incentives designed to promote innovation and job growth.

This is a unique opportunity to leverage our custom technology platform driven by Artificial Intelligence and make an impact in the R&D tax world. You will work alongside senior R&D leaders to expand your knowledge on US, UK, Puerto Rico, and Canadian R&D tax credits and develop your skills as a people manager.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage client engagements related to R&D tax credit incentive claims, overseeing preparation and execution to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding task status, technical issues, workload, due dates, and project management
  • Analyze large volumes of accounting cost data, creating complex calculation databases using Microsoft Excel or Access, and mentoring junior team members on best practices and R&D tax knowledge
  • Assist in drafting opinion letters, responses to IRS inquiries, and writing technical memoranda, while participating in research for thought leadership materials and credit-related webinars
  • Become a subject matter expert for clients, developing strong relationships and rapport with key departments across the business

Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in R&D tax credits, preferably at a public or boutique accounting firm
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Engineering, with a strong background in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and legal/technical tax code research tools
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, less structured tax consulting environment
  • Natural curiosity and a growth mindset, with the potential for career advancement based on merit and performance
