Job Summary

The Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans is seeking a skilled Housing Case Manager to join our team in providing supportive services to Veterans and their families. As a Housing Case Manager, you will work closely with our Shallow Subsidy program to provide rental assistance and case management services to low-income Veteran households.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct client assessments to identify housing barriers and create a housing stability plan with Veterans
  • Provide case management services from a harm-reduction and strength-based model, using Motivational Interviewing to support client goals
  • Coordinate with community agencies to provide comprehensive services for participants
  • Maintain strong working relationships with landlords and property managers to ensure ongoing lease compliance
  • Work with other program staff to ensure compliance with grant outcomes
Requirements
  • Strong communication skills to communicate directly with Veterans and community providers
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight timelines
  • Experience working with individuals who are homeless, chemically dependent, or have a mental illness
  • Good presentation skills to small groups
  • Works well on a team but can function independently
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field (social work, human services)
  • Knowledge of client tracking systems and database background
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Salesforce
