Job Summary

">

We are seeking a Medical Support Specialist to join our team on the Med/Surg Unit (2N). The successful candidate will provide direct and non-direct personal care to patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with healthcare teams, and demonstrate empathy towards patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and non-direct personal care to patients, understanding and reacting effectively to their unique needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure safe patient care.
  • Perform duties as a Certified Nursing Assistant, including taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, and documenting patient information.
  • May also perform Telemetry Tech duties, requiring proficiency in basic telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

">
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Current listing as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the state of North Carolina Division of Facility Services.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification.
  • Proficiency in basic unit secretary tasks, such as transcription and data entry.
  • Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
