About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Scientist II to join our team at Christus Health. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, ensuring accurate results and efficient workflow.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, troubleshooting issues and performing minor repairs as needed.
  • Cross-train in other laboratory sections to support team efforts and adapt to changing needs.
  • Maintain quality control programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize the Laboratory Information System to manage data and communicate results effectively.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • One year of approved clinical laboratory experience, including rotations through Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids.
  • Certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS.
  • Louisiana licensure (if required).

Estimated Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This compensation range is based on industry standards and market conditions in the Beaumont area.
